Having the air circulating
well inside is the secret to allowing an RV refrigerator to function optimally.
This makes it harder for the fridge to be stuffed with food. A little RV
refrigerator airator fan built to keep the air circulating may be used. If there
was room between all the food, this might fit perfectly, but our fridge is
normally full (the turf battles between the beer and the vegetables can be
intense... we can hear them battle it out there sometimes!).
You must keep the door
seals clean as a repair item, wiping them down regularly.
To monitor the temperatures
in the fridge and freezer, you can also use basic refrigerator thermometers. It
has a hook built in, and it hangs in the refrigerator from one of the rungs on
the top shelf. One rests against one wall in the fridge.
The estimated lifetime of
RV refrigerators is around 8 to 10 years. The presence of yellow dust in the
refrigerator vent area behind the fridge is a typical sign of imminent failure
(go outside and take the vent cover off and look around with a flashlight). Click and learn more about the Smad Absorption Refrigerator!
